Enjoying the sun at Forbidden Fruit

Exams are over and summer is here, I decided to take a look at some of my favorite festivals taking place this summer.

1: FORBIDDEN FRUIT:

Located at the picturesque settings of Kilmainham just a short journey from the city center, Forbidden Fruit kicks off today with their best lineup yet. Justice, Richie Hawtin, Bonobo, Four Tet, Earl Sweatshirt, The War On Drugs, Denis Sulta, Or.la. And many more.

2: SEA SESSIONS

A music festival on the beach with surfing and skateboarding included, need we say more? Bundoran in Donegal transforms into a huge sessions with thousands of eager festival goers invading the town. Fun Fact: Sea Sessions won the 2017 IMRO Festival of the year in 2017. Lineup Dizzee Rascal, Dusky, Hudson Taylor, Le Galaxie, Versatile,Walking On Cars, Hannah Wants, Rudimental,

3: ALL TOGETHER NOW 3-5th August Curraghmore House, Co. Waterford

ATN a brand new festival from POD has possibly the strongest new festival lineup I have seen in years. The festival takes placee in the stunning surroundings of Curraghmore House and some early drone shots reveal a breathtaking landscape. Some my favourite acts playing this year:  Underworld, Fleet Foxes, Chaka Kahn, Tommy Tiernan, Groove Armada, The Viper, Booka Shade and Mura Masa. Full lineup below

4: SCROBARNACH 10-11th August Watergrass Hill at Ballindenisk House

Scorbarnach probably the most unknown festival on the list but one of the best small festivals in Ireland. Scrobarnach which translates directly to Undergrowth, pops up in different locations throughout Ireland each year. Scrobarnach focuses on Irish talent with multiple stages and genres catered too. The lineup for this year will be out soon so follow the festival on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/scrobarnachfestival/

5: CARL COX  Ballinlough Castle, Co Westmeath 25th August

Carl Cox one of the biggest and most respected DJ’s in the world comes back to Ireland this August. For his first Irish show in ten years he is going big, taking over the grounds of Ballinlough Castle for a one day party. Carl Cox will be joined with FM104 DJ Al Gibbs and more to be announced.
